Dr. Katie A. Rodenkirch (she/they) is a Contributing Faculty Member in the Mental Health Counseling department. She achieved her Masters' in Professional Counseling (concentration in Clinical Mental Health Counseling) from Mount Mary University and her PhD in Counselor Education & Supervision from Northern Illinois University. They have been teaching as a counselor educator since 2021, and worked in a variety of mental health helping roles since 2012. Currently, she counsels adults full-time in a private practice, where she specializes in sexualized complex trauma and compulsive sexual behavior/preoccupation. Dr. Rodenkirch's research orients around queer theory, counselor-in-training preparation, sexuality, and social justice.
