Katie C. Fetzer received her PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at the University of New Orleans in 2018. She currently serves as Contributing Faculty for Student Success in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences at Walden University. Prior to her position at Walden, Dr. Fetzer has taught both nationally and internationally in counseling graduate programs. Dr. Fetzer has instructed Diagnosis and Etiology, Clinical Supervision, Assessment, Ethics, and Multicultural Counseling coursework across multiple colleges and universities. Dr. Fetzer has also presented at local, national, and international professional conferences on topics related to the globalization of mental health. Dr. Fetzer is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor and has been practicing in Baton Rouge, LA for 14 years in both inpatient and outpatient behavioral health settings. Dr. Fetzer is also the co-owner and founder of an award-winning counseling private practice which has been open since 2012. Dr. Fetzer’s dissertation research, which explored the lived experiences of state level policymakers regarding their experiences with mental health policy construction, won the Louisiana Counseling Association’s Research Award in 2020. Dr. Fetzer is also a two-time semi-finalist for the International Songwriting Competition.
