In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Kati has been in the healthcare field since 2001 when she graduated from Amarillo College with a degree in Paramedicine. After that, Kati enrolled in the ADN program at Amarillo College. Kati Graduated in 2004 and began working as a Cardiology/CCU nurse. Kati worked in that role for 2 years when she then transitioned to home health. Kati worked as a Home Health Case Manager for 6 years. Kati has a passion for Emergency nursing and accepted a role as an ER nurse. While working as an ER nurse, Kati earned her BSN/MSN from WTAMU in Nursing administration and education. Once Kati graduated, she began teaching at Amarillo College in the ADN program. Kati earned her PhD in Education in 2018 and is now the Emergency Room Director/Trauma Program Coordinator at Hereford Regional Hospital. She has also been a faculty member for MSN and DNP students at Aspen University.
Kati is passionate about nursing and education. She believes that knowledge is power and no matter how long a person has worked in the nursing field, there is always room for growth and learning. Kati strives to learn new things daily and innovate way to be a more effective leader and teammate.
