Dr. Prado is a highly qualified Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified with Board-Certification from the American Nurses Credentialing Center to practice across the lifespan. He holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from the University of Arizona, where he also completed a graduate certificate in Nursing Rural Telehealth. He has been actively practicing as a psychiatric provider since 2022, leveraging his expertise as both an experienced clinician and an educator. Dr. Prado is a strong advocate for holistic mental wellness, integrating patients' biological, psychological, and social health to promote recovery within his outpatient General Mental Health community clinic. He actively diagnoses and treats a comprehensive range of conditions, including neurodevelopmental disorders (Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder), schizophrenia spectrum and other psychotic disorders, bipolar and related (mood) disorders, depressive disorders, anxiety disorders, trauma-and-stress related disorders, insomnia, and substance-related and addictive disorders.

In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Prado has significant experience in academia, having taught nursing at both the undergraduate level and at a graduate research institution. His major accomplishments include achieving dual board certification as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner-Board Certified and Board Certified-TeleMental Health, which reflects his specialized focus on the delivery of care through technology. His expertise in telemedicine is recognized nationally, evidenced by his service as a Subject Matter Expert for the Telemental Health Examination Committee with the National Board for Certified Counselors and Affiliates.

Dr. Prado’s professional background is distinguished by his specialization in rural health and telemedicine. He has served as a doctoral-level preceptor for his alma mater, the University of Arizona, contributing to the development of future practitioners. His vision is centered on promoting recovery and improving the quality of life for the mental health population while optimizing and upholding excellence in his delivery of care.
