In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Jennifer Hodges-Crowder received her PhD in Counseling Psychology at Louisiana Tech University in August of 2007. She is currently a contributing faculty member in the Undergraduate Psychology Program at Walden University. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member in another Department of Psychology and Addiction Studies where she teaches Seminar in Addiction Studies and Senior Research Seminar. Dr. Hodges-Crowder previously served as a graduate faculty member where she taught courses in Ethics and Professional Development, Group and Family Counseling, IQ Assessment, Personality Assessment, Psychological Research, and Thesis. Prior undergraduate courses taught include Ethics in Psychology, Personal Adjustment and Development, Psychological Tests and Measurement, Social Psychology, and Statistics. Dr. Hodges-Crowder has worked as a Licensed Addiction Counselor in Louisiana since 1998 in several direct service roles in the non-profit arena including administration as a treatment program Director, Clinical Supervisor, and a clinical services provider. She currently works assisting in a Medical Psychology clinic to provide assessment services for individuals with neurodevelopmental differences. Her clinical activities also include therapy services for individuals with substance-related issues.
