In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Jeanne Jahosky is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Master’s Certified Addiction Professional in the state of Florida. She is currently working as a Social Worker/Therapist at a large hospital in Orlando, Florida. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Sociology from the University of Central Florida, a Master’s Degree in Social Work from Florida State University, a Graduate Certificate in Brain Injury from George Washington University, and a Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Tennessee. Her Capstone paper was entitled “The Effects of Treating Service Members’ Moral Injury of the Mental Health Provider”.
After completion of her MSW, she worked with the privatization of the Department of Children and Families for the state of Florida, specializing in children from birth to age 5, providing in-home treatment in the areas of physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, neglect, substance abuse, domestic violence, and mental illness. She worked as a civilian with the US Army Medical Treatment Facilities from 2005 to 2022, with the opportunity to work in Europe and stateside in the Family Advocacy Program, Traumatic Brain Injury Program, as well as the Embedded Behavioral Health and Psychological Health Intensive Outpatient Programs. She has had extensive training in Traumatic Brain Injury and Posttraumatic Stress Disorder. From 2011-2013, Jeanne served as a Board Member for the NASW International Chapter. Dr. Jahosky has been an adjunct professor in BSW, MSW, and DSW programs since 2020.
