Dr. Ruesler holds a PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University, a Master's Degree in Community Counseling from Southeast Missouri State University, and a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology from Truman State University. Dr. Ruesler is a licensed professional counselor in Missouri, a nationally certified counselor, a certified clinical trauma professional, and a medication-assisted recovery specialist with over 18 years of clinical mental health and addiction practice. Her experience spans a wide array of roles and environments, including agency and contract practice, academia, home-based services, and consultation. Dr. Ruesler has taught in adjunct roles since 2018 in both psychology and counseling. Dr. Ruesler will serve as contributing faculty at Walden. Dr. Ruesler's research interests include trauma, addictions, counseling supervision, first-generation students, and multicultural issues.
