Jim Cook

Jim Cook received his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision at Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 2003. Dr. Cook began as a contributing faculty member at Walden in the School of Counseling in April of 2026. He is a seasoned counselor educator with extensive experience teaching both undergraduate and graduate students. He has held several administrative roles, including Counseling Program Director, Residency Coordinator, and Applied Psychology Coordinator. His teaching and research interests center on the development of individual and group counseling skills. He has contributed to the field through multiple peer-reviewed journal articles and a published book on group work. Dr. Cook is a National Certified Counselor, an Approved Clinical Supervisor, and a Licensed Professional Counselor in three states.
