In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Ifymma Okeke received her Doctorate in nursing practice in 2019 from the University of Kansas in the specialty of Psychiatric Mental health Nursing. Dr. Ifymma Okeke transitioned to working as PMHNP in the inpatient acute care unit, serving the underserved population in Kansas City MO. Her experience in psychiatric nursing covers Geri psych, and in-patient acute care setting. Dr. Ifymma Okeke worked as a secondary supervisor for University Health Truman medical Center doctoral interns. Dr. Ifymma Okeke worked as adjunct clinical instructor for University of Missouri Kansas City BSN students. Dr. Ifymma Okeke is currently working as a contributory faculty at Walden University teaching MSN PMHNP students. Dr. Ifymma Okeke enjoys caring for patient suffering from mental illness and seeing them recovers and preparing students to be better equipped to provide evidence-based care to patients suffering from mental illness.
