Dr. Hollie Jones’s formal training is in psychology, with specializations in social, developmental, and health psychology, research methodology, and program evaluation. She has taught courses in experimental psychology, research design, qualitative research methods, developmental psychology and social psychology since 2007. At Walden University, she serves as contributing faculty in the PhD program in Developmental Psychology, working with doctoral students on dissertation committees and mentoring students through the development of rigorous research designs.
Dr. Jones’s scholarship focuses on identity development, stress and coping, mental health among diverse populations, and health disparities. Her research integrates qualitative and quantitative methods to examine psychosocial and behavioral factors related to health and well-being. She has published peer-reviewed research, presented at national and international conferences. Dr. Jones has extensive experience in higher education as both a faculty member and academic leader. In addition to her teaching and research roles, she has held senior administrative positions including Dean of Academic Affairs and MSCHE Accreditation Liaison Officer, where she led institutional accreditation initiatives, program review processes, and strategic academic planning. She is an active member of the American Psychological Association and the Association of Black Psychologists and has served as a reviewer for scholarly journals in psychology and health disparities.
