Dr. Folasade Olayiwole, DNP, APRN, PMHNP-BC, is a Contributing Faculty and a psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner board-certified by the ANCC, licensed in Texas, Arizona, Oregon, Delaware, Washington, and Minnesota. She has been in healthcare for an exceptionally long time. She is originally from Nigeria. She graduated as a Veterinary doctor in Nigeria in 2000 and moved to the United States in 2002. She started her nursing career 2008 at a community college in Decatur, Alabama. She graduated with an associate degree in nursing in 2010, then moved to Texas and completed her bachelor's degree in nursing at the University of Texas in Arlington in 2012. 2015, she returned to the same school as her psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner and graduated in 2017. She worked as a graduate teaching assistant for a BSN program during her PMHNP program. She obtained a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Texas Women's University in Dallas, Texas, in 2020. She has worked as a nurse in med surgery, rehab, an addiction center, and an inpatient psychiatry setting, which gave her a passion for mental health. She worked in an inpatient setting as PMHNP from 2017 until 2023. She is the CEO of Shepherd Spring Psychiatry and Therapy. She has been a graduate instructor since 2021.
