In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Ms. Wittlin-Young has been working in the health field for over 18 years. Prior to nursing she was an admissions coordinator for a health facility. She became a Registered Nurse in May 2007 and began her nursing career as a neonatal intensive care nurse. She worked seven years as a neonatal intensive care nurse before she earned her MSN from the University of Central Florida and became a Family Nurse Practitioner in 2013. Ms. Wittlin-Young maintains her APRN license with the Florida Board of Nursing (APRN9263004), Minnesota Board of Nursing, and holds an RN license with Alabama BON. She has been a practicing Family Nurse Practitioner for over 9 years. She is currently practicing at a walk in clinic that treats patients 18 months and older. She has been designated as the lead NP in her current workplace, superuser and is the student coordinator for her region. Ms. Wittlin-Young is also DOT certified (2593872310) and completes DOT physicals. She began working for Walden University in 2015 to teach as a clinical adjunct for the nurse practitioner program. Eve has also taught with the University of Central Florida as a clinical adjunct faculty member as well as lab faculty for the advanced health assessment lab.
