In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Emily Walker DNP, APRN, FNP-C
I am a graduate of the University of Nebraska Medical Center, where I received my Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN). Creighton University, where I received my Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) as well as Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree.
I have been a Professor since 2019 and have enjoyed the teaching aspect of healthcare. I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of courses in both the Masters and Doctorate program! It reminds me why I love healthcare and allows me the opportunity to share my passion with my students.

Dr. Walker has a diverse background in healthcare. She has worked in a specialty hospital working with Heart and Vascular patients, ICU working with Neuro/Trauma patients, and currently in a Family Practice/Urgent Care setting. She has been in the healthcare field since 2005 and has enjoyed every minute of it. Teaching has reminded her about her love for healthcare and she gets to share stories with her students daily. She looks forward to the time together and is honored to be sharing this experience with each one of you!
