In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Elizabeth “Beth” Foster Marone is the Manager of Behavior Services for the Georgia Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Disabilities (DBHDD). She began her career at DBHDD in 2012 as a Regional Behavior Analyst and proceeded to Lead Behavior Analyst before taking on her current role in 2022. Dr. Foster Marone is also an Adjunct Professor of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) at National University, which strives to make higher education accessible to everyone through a holistic approach to student support, well-being, and success, called “Whole Human Education.”
She received her Doctorate in ABA from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology (NKA The Chicago School) in 2021. She received multiple awards during her time as a student there including Excellence in Research Presentation in 2018 and Excellence in Research & Presentation in 2019. She previously obtained her master’s in educational psychology and bachelor’s in special education at Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY. In 2011 she became a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) after completing the necessary coursework at CUNY Hunter in Manhattan, NY. Dr. Foster Marone currently holds the BCBA-D certification.
