Dr. Cobbs is an active law enforcement executive currently serving as the Chief of Police of a mid-sized police department. Additionally, his involvement in higher education exceeds 9 years, during which he has served as an adjunct professor. In his role, he teaches various criminal justice subjects, including police operations and procedures, criminal justice ethics, and the technology of modern policing. Currently, he serves as a Contributing Faculty Member for the Doctoral Criminal Justice Program. Dr. Cobbs earned his Ed.D. in Organizational Leadership from Stockton University.
Dr. Cobbs is a graduate of numerous leadership courses, including Northwestern University’s Police Staff and Command School (SPSC) and the New Jersey State Association Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP) Command and Leadership Academy. Additionally, he is a recipient of the Trilogy Award from the FBI-Law Enforcement Executive Development Association (LEEDA).
Dr. Cobbs is an active member of various law enforcement organizations, including the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP), the National Organization of Black Law Enforcement Executives (NOBLE), the New Jersey State Association Chiefs of Police (NJSACOP), and the Pennsylvania Chiefs of Police Association (PCPA).
