Dr. Ebonyse Mead is an Assistant Professor of Family and Consumer Sciences at Virginia State University and adjunct faculty in Walden University’s BS in Human Services program. She brings more than twenty years of experience in early childhood education, human services, and family support, with expertise in culturally responsive practice, sociocultural influences on families, and positive racial identity development. A Certified Family Life Educator, she holds an Ed.D. in Early Childhood and master’s degrees in Human Services, Applied Sociology, and Family Studies. Dr. Mead has held leadership roles in Head Start, Early Head Start, and community‑based family service programs and is co‑author of Building Equitable Learning Programs: A Social Justice Approach and the Handbook of Racial Equity in Early Childhood. At Walden, she supports undergraduate learners in developing culturally grounded, equity‑centered human services competencies.
