In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Denise Rizzolo, PhD, MPH, PA-C is a the Managing Editor for JPAE and the Director of Research and Publication for the PA Education Association (PAEA). She earned a master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from Rutgers University and a PhD in Health Science from Seton Hall University. She earned her second Master's of Public Health from the University of Missouri. Currently she will be a contributing faculty member in the PhD in Health Science Program at Walden University. Denise’s 23 years of clinical experience has focused on primary care and women’s health, treating a variety of conditions across the lifespan. Denise’s has been an educator for over 18 years working with undergraduate, graduate and PhD students. She has served on multiple committees for both the American Academy of Physician Assistants along with the Physician Assistant Education Association. Denise has served as a research coordinator for the past 17 years publishing her work with students in peer reviewed journals and at presenting during poster presentations at national conferences. She regularly lectures for state, regional and national audiences.
