Denise Nixon
Dr. Denise Nixon serves as an adjunct instructor and dissertation committee member and chair at Walden University. She holds a Ph.D. in Higher Education Leadership from Capella University. She earned her Master of Education in Educational Administration, Master of Education in School Guidance and Counseling, and Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from the University of South Carolina.
With over 23 years of experience in public education, Dr. Nixon has served in various roles including guidance counselor, school administrator, director of personnel services, and assistant superintendent for human resources. Her research interests focus on K–12 and higher education, specifically in the areas of teacher recruitment and retention, employee engagement, professional development, and human resources practices in education.
In addition to her work in academia, Dr. Nixon is an entrepreneur who has successfully operated a recruitment agency and currently operates a professional development consulting firm. Over the past five years, she has taught online courses for several colleges and universities, bringing her extensive real-world experience and scholarly expertise into the virtual classroom.
