In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr Terry offers over 30 years of progressive experience, including senior level management in Hospital Administration, Critical Care/Emergency/PACU/Medical-Surgical Nursing, Advanced Practice Nursing, Public Speaking and Education. In addition to serving as Contributing Faculty for Walden University, Dr Terry is President / Owner of TotalCaring Health Education and Staffing, Inc. The company is an authorized Certified Training Center for the American Heart Association for Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS). Through this company, Dr Terry also serves as an independent clinical contractor (DNP-ARNP) for multiple practices to make hospital rounds. Clinical practice areas include Pulmonary Critical Care, Internal Medicine, and Infectious Disease.

Dr Terry maintains active memership in multiple professional associations including ANA, AACN, ACNP, FNPN. She is also active in her local churches (in NC and FL) and enjoys serving in multiple ministries including volunteering in a local clinic. Dr Terry especially enjoys spending time with family. She has enjoyed serving as an Contributing Faculty at Walden since April, 2015 and has over 20 years of experience teaching in the traditional face-to-face classroom setting, as well as online.
