Deana Luciano
Dr. Deana Luciano is a contributing faculty member in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Walden University. She holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision and has two years of teaching and professional experience in the counseling field. Dr. Luciano's primary areas of research interest and subject matter expertise center around addiction and trauma-informed care.
Professionally, she is a Licensed Clinical Addiction Specialist (LCAS), a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor Associate (LCMHCA), a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and an EMDR specialist currently pursuing EMDR certification. She brings extensive clinical experience working with individuals impacted by substance use disorders, complex trauma, and co-occurring mental health conditions.
Dr. Luciano's major work accomplishments include developing curriculum and psychoeducational resources for substance use disorder treatment programs, facilitating clinical training on trauma-informed practices, and serving as a clinical manager overseeing integrated care teams. She remains dedicated to advancing the counseling profession through education, advocacy, and clinical excellence.
