In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Cynthia M. Lewis. is a Doctorate prepared nurse who seeks to improve healthcare knowledge in order to improve the health and wellbeing of people, patients, the community and the world. She does this by working as an integral team member with the highest quality of education with respect, excellence and innovation. Cynthia has more than 26 years of nursing experience with over 16 years as an APRN. Currently she works as an APRN with TeamHealth. Her position is with Hospital Physician Services (HPS). She possesses advanced knowledge and skills in the assessment and acute care management of patients and families within the Hospital medicine arena. Cynthia serves as an expert practitioner, executing position responsibilities that demonstrate leadership, experience and creative approaches to management of complex patient care. She works in collaboration with a group of physicians who are certified in Internal Medicine. She is primarily responsible for timely initial evaluation and management of patients referred for admission and consultation due to their disease status as well as patients needing urgent intervention.
