With more than 20 years of experience in behavioral health, Dr. Currie has served in diverse clinical and leadership roles across both private and public settings. Her background also includes higher education, where she has supported graduate-level counseling students and served as a Counseling Skills Coach and Academic Mentor at Walden University. Dr. Currie is a licensed clinical mental health counselor with specialized training in trauma-focused interventions. Her clinical work has centered on supporting individuals impacted by childhood trauma and unhealthy family dynamics. Her professional interests include trauma and crisis intervention, transgenerational trauma, and culturally responsive counseling practices. She has contributed to the field through conference presentations, professional training, and scholarly work examining the influence of parent-child relationships on Gen Z dating practices. Dr. Currie is also actively involved in professional counseling organizations and has been recognized for excellence in clinical practice. She also provides consultation services to Fortune 500 companies and organizations. Outside of her professional roles, she enjoys volunteering with a local food pantry, discovering new food trucks, and exploring walking trails.
