Colin Aminkeng

Dr. Colin Aminkeng, DNP, PMHNP, is a graduate of the University of Alabama Huntsville with a doctorate of nursing practice in psychiatry. I also attended the University of Wilmington, Delaware, for undergraduate studies in Nursing and Walden University for graduate studies in Mental health. I have over 16 years in the mental health field, working in inpatient, crisis centers, outpatient services, and jail diversion with a commitment to offering holistic care to individuals and families.

My clinical interest primarily is using motivational interviewing to promote medication adherence among individuals with mental health challenges. Other areas of focus include the management of patients with opioid use disorder, alcohol abuse, and stimulant abuse.

In addition to my clinical work, I am a passionate activist fighting the social stigma that comes with mental illness. Other areas of interest include: Playing soccer, traveling, biking, and hiking.
