Christopher Kemp
Dr. Christopher Kemp is an experienced educator, licensed school counselor, and mental health leader with a formal background in Counselor Education and Supervision. He holds a Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision, a Master’s degree in School Counseling, and a dual Bachelor’s degree in Biology and Psychology with a Pre-Med concentration.
Dr. Kemp brings over a decade of experience in education and school-based mental health. He has led award-winning counseling departments, developed trauma-informed support systems, and trained educators and mental health professionals across charter, public, and private school settings. Dr. Kemp has led counseling departments recognized by the Governor of Georgia and collaborates with universities and charter networks to improve mental health outcomes. His research centers on the mental health and educational experiences of Black boys, particularly the social and emotional impact of exclusionary discipline practices.
Dr. Kemp is also the Founder and CEO of Kemp Mental Wellness Consulting, where he partners with schools and districts to design and implement sustainable, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive mental health programs. Through his consulting practice, he provides professional development, crisis response planning, staff training, student support systems, and leadership coaching to improve school climate and student well-being.
At Walden University, Dr. Kemp serves as a Contributing Faculty Member in the School of Counseling. In this role, he contributes to course instruction, student mentorship, and collaborative scholarship.
