Dr. Chika Okafor received her Doctor of nursing from Walden University in January 2010. She currently serves as a faculty member for the Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in the College of Health Science School of Nursing at Walden University. She has been employed with Walden University as a faculty since November 2020. Dr. Okafor began her teaching career as an adjunct faculty member at another university BSN program. Dr. Okafor is a clinical Psychiatric and Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, Board Certified. Dr. Okafor holds an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse and Registered Nurse licensures in the States of Missouri, Kansas, and Minnesota. She has worked in a variety of mental health settings including hospitals, clinic, States facility hospital, community mental health, and private practice. Her experiences within administration, as the Assistant Chief Nurse Executive of a State psychiatric hospital. Her area of focus for the DNP is on Educational Intervention on Metabolic Syndrome to Psychiatric Providers. Dr. Okafor has experience with presentation to Annual Conference for Advanced Nurse Practitioners of the Ozarks about HIV Pharmacotherapy and Psychotropic medications, telehealth, Integrated healthcare and Preceptorship.
