Dr. Cherese Novelle Godwin is a citizen of the United States and of the Federation of St. Kitts & Nevis. Dr. Godwin received her bachelor’s degree in Psychology with an emphasis on organizational behavior from Clark Atlanta University (CAU). She matriculated upon graduation to the University of Pennsylvania to obtain her Masters from the School of Social Policy and Practice and graduated cum laude.
Dr. Godwin has done consulting work since 2009. She is an advocate for gender equity. She has worked in Washington, DC as a therapist and later a Professor. Dr. Godwin has a deep passion for counseling, teaching, leadership, development and policy. She enrolled at the prestigious Whitney M. Young Jr. School of Social Work, to obtain her Ph.D. and further her research on policy. Dr. Godwin went on to pursue her Ph.D. in Social Policy, Planning, and Administration and graduated summa cum laude, with cognates in Criminal Justice, Public Administration and International Development. Dr. Godwin served as Chair and Program Director of the Bachelors of Social Work Department and an Associate Professor at the historic Livingstone College, where she served on the board of Institutional Advancement and Assessment and International Studies completely revising and creating policies, enhancing departments in the college, and assisting in brand development for the college.
Dr. Godwin is a recent UNESCO Speaker on Humanities in the Caribbean and what that means for the economy. Dr. Godwin is an author and she specializes in program development and evaluation, counseling people, emboldening leaders, training, and strengthening and developing organizations and countries. She is a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Business and Professional Women of St. Kitts, Altrusa Intl., and Rotary Club of Liamgua, and the St. Kitts Chamber of Industrial Commerce. Dr. Godwin knows that none of this would be possible without the installment of CAU and its motto to “Find a Way or Make One” and the national motto of St. Christopher (St. Kitts) and Nevis, “Country above Self”.
