Dr. CarMichael is a contributing faculty member at Walden University, where she serves as a counselor educator and is a licensed mental health counselor in Florida, bringing over 11 years of experience in behavioral health to her role. She obtained her Ph.D. in Counselor Education and Supervision from Walden University and is dedicated to mentoring the next generation of counseling professionals. Additionally, she holds a dual Master of Science and Education Specialist degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida State University. Her areas of interest includes racial identity development, burnout prevention, self-care, the integration of technology in mental health, and advocacy for mental health access. Alongside her teaching responsibilities, she manages a private telehealth practice and is committed to improving access to quality, affordable mental health care.
