Dr. Brittany Reed is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and educator based in Louisville, Kentucky. She earned her Doctorate in Social Work from the University of Kentucky and holds a Master’s in Social Work with a specialization in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of Louisville. Over the past decade, Dr. Reed has provided clinical services across diverse settings—including child welfare, residential and psychiatric hospitals, school systems, and private practice—specializing in trauma-informed care for children and families.
Her work is deeply rooted in advocacy, particularly for Black children whose voices are often marginalized in clinical and educational spaces. Dr. Reed’s mission is to elevate those voices while promoting mental health awareness and destigmatization within the Black community. She believes that the success of children is directly tied to the support and wellness of the adults in their lives, and she integrates this philosophy into both her clinical practice and educational leadership.
In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Reed provides supervision to master’s-level social work students and serves as a licensed supervisor for Marriage and Family Therapy associates across Kentucky. She is known for her relational approach, commitment to equity, and passion for mentoring the next generation of behavioral health professionals.
Outside of her professional roles, Dr. Reed is deeply family-oriented and finds joy in being an aunt and foster sister to the many children welcomed into her mother’s home. Her personal and professional life reflect a steadfast dedication to healing, empowerment, and systemic change.
