Beverly Sande, PhD has over 28 years of professional experience dedicated to improving educational access and advancing large-scale educational reform. Dr. Sande serves as an Associate Professor and Director of the Panther Teaching Academy and the Panther Educator Residency Consortium at Prairie View A&M University, where she leads innovative teacher preparation initiatives designed to prepare educators and school leaders to effectively serve diverse student populations, including minority students, students with disabilities, and gifted learners. Her work emphasizes equitable access to high-quality instruction and the development of educators who are prepared to meet the needs of all learners from their first day in the classroom.

In addition to her role at Prairie View A&M University, Dr. Sande serves as a faculty member at Walden University, where she contributes as a subject matter expert (SME) for special education and also helps to the preparation of graduate students in education and supports doctoral-level research and scholarship. Her teaching and mentoring focus on leadership, educational reform, and research-based practices that improve outcomes for underserved student populations.

Dr. Sande’s primary research interests include collaborative continuous improvement models, educator preparation reform, university–school partnerships, and strategies for scaling educational initiatives. Her scholarship focuses on interdisciplinary collaboration and systemic approaches that strengthen educator preparation programs and improve teacher effectiveness.

Her professional expertise includes designing and implementing innovative educator preparation models, such as dual licensure programs, co-teaching models, yearlong residency programs, collaborative continuous improvement frameworks, and university–school partnership models. She has also led interdisciplinary teams focused on preparing teacher candidates for certification exams and ensuring they are classroom-ready upon program completion.

Throughout her career, Dr. Sande has worked extensively with school districts, institutions of higher education, and educational organizations to develop programs that address teacher shortages, strengthen instructional practice, and expand access to high-quality education. Her work has been supported by approximately $17.6 million in grant funding, which has enabled the implementation and scaling of several transformative educator preparation initiatives.

Dr. Sande’s scholarship and leadership are grounded in a commitment to equity, collaboration, and systemic improvement, and her work continues to influence policies and practices that strengthen educator preparation and improve educational outcomes for diverse learners.
