Dr. Joyce Simmons is an Advanced Practice Nurse and Board Certified Adult High Risk Clinical Nurse Specialist. She received her BSN and MSN at Harding University and her Doctorate at Walden University. Her practice reflects her clinical expertise of more than 32 years of service. She’s served as an OB/Gyn Practitioner, Physician Extender and developed the PrimeCare wellness program. Since 2007 she has been teaching in higher education at Walden University, MSN, Harding University BSN, Family Nurse Practitioner, MSN, AASN at Arkansas State University and online with UALR. She has experience with televised, online education and specializes in Obstetrics, Pediatrics, Leadership, Political Policy, Pharmacology, Informatics, Medical Surgical, and HIV care. She has been a Kaplan Educator, NLN Underwriter, NALS, BLS Instructor, BDLS educator, and was an IBCLC. She’s currently BLS certified and received a certificate in online course development from the ITTC. She is on the CAPCA Head Start Health Care Advisory Board. At Central Arkansas Hospital, she served on the Executive Staff Committee, Ethics Committee and the Physician Committee. She received a Leadership certificate in the Executive Staff Program. She holds a national certification with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).
