Amanda Lewis

Dr. Amanda Lewis is an experienced early childhood education professional with 28 years of teaching and educational leadership experience. She holds a doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education and is licensed in North Carolina as a Birth–Kindergarten educator. Her formal teaching area and field of study include early childhood education, child development, curriculum design, assessment, and developmentally appropriate practices.
Dr. Lewis serves as an Adjunct Faculty member at Walden University, where she supports adult learners in developing knowledge and skills related to early childhood education. In this role, she facilitates meaningful online learning experiences, engages students in academic discussions, provides feedback on coursework, and connects research-based practices to real-world educational settings.
Dr. Lewis has served as a NC public Pre-K teacher for 15 years and has extensive experience working with traditional Pre-K classrooms, blended settings, and early childhood special education environments. She has collaborated with families, school teams, and community partners to promote high-quality early learning experiences. Her professional affiliations and experiences include work with early childhood education initiatives, public school systems, and organizations (such as PBS Ambassador and Smart Start) supporting young children and educators.
Throughout her career, Dr. Lewis has been recognized for her commitment to student achievement, instructional excellence, and mentoring future educators. Her accomplishments include supporting children’s kindergarten readiness, developing engaging curriculum experiences, promoting family partnerships, and contributing to the growth and professional development of early childhood teachers.
