Alicia Dawson

Dr. Alicia Dawson is a core faculty member in Walden’s BSW program. She holds a Bachelor's and Master's Degree from the University of Louisville. She recently received her Doctorate in Social Work in 2022 from the University of Kentucky. Dr. Dawson has significant professional experience as a mental health therapist, with a focus on working with children who have experienced trauma or abuse. Additionally, Dr. Dawson has professional experience working with youth in residential settings and individuals with intellectual disabilities. Dr. Dawson has enjoyed her transition from direct social work into higher education and prides herself on providing students a transformative learning environment that helps student’s reach their full learning potential. Dr. Dawson has received a Student Champion award for the last three years for her dedication to student success during their academic years.
