Dr. Alexandra Reeves is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Florida and a Qualified Supervisor with more than ten years of experience in clinical practice, counselor education, supervision, and professional leadership. She earned her Doctor of Philosophy in Counselor Education and Supervision from the University of the Cumberlands.
Dr. Reeves teaches in the areas of clinical mental health counseling, counselor education, leadership, and advocacy. At Walden University, she supports graduate counseling students in developing strong professional identities, research foundations, and ethical counseling practice.
Her areas of expertise include counselor wellness, women’s mental health, military and veteran populations, and the development of professional identity within the counseling field. Her research focuses on wellness models, military family experiences, and the intersection of leadership and advocacy in counseling.
Dr. Reeves has an extensive background in professional service, including leadership roles with the American Counseling Association Foundation, the International Association for Wellness Counseling, and the Kentucky Association for Counselor Education and Supervision. She is the recipient of the 2023 Council for Accreditation of Counseling and Related Educational Programs Carol Bobby Pioneer Award for Visionary Leadership and the 2023 University of the Cumberlands Excellence in Research Doctoral Award.
Her work reflects a commitment to advancing the counseling profession through research, service, and the preparation of emerging professionals.
