Dr. Albert Toledo is a Family Nurse Practitioner and Doctor of Nursing Practice with more than seven years of advanced clinical practice experience and over five years in higher education. He serves as adjunct faculty at Walden University, where he supports graduate nursing students through instruction, academic mentorship, and clinical development.
Dr. Toledo’s formal teaching areas include advanced pharmacology, pathophysiology, adult health, and the role of the advanced practice nurse. His professional background includes extensive experience in urgent care and family medicine, where he provides comprehensive, evidence-based care to diverse patient populations across the lifespan.
His academic interests focus on clinical decision-making, safe prescribing practices, chronic disease management, and the preparation of advanced practice nurses for real-world healthcare environments. He is particularly committed to strengthening clinical reasoning and promoting high-quality, patient-centered care.
Dr. Toledo has also served as a clinical preceptor for multiple universities, guiding graduate nursing students in the transition from theory to practice. His combined experience as a physician trained in Cuba and as a nurse practitioner in the United States contributes to a broad, culturally informed perspective that enhances both his teaching and clinical work.
