Doctor of Business Administration (DBA)

Dear All,
My name is Abhishek, but my friends have called me Abhi since grade school. I graduated with my DBA from Walden in 2025. I came to the US in the late '90s to pursue graduate studies. I hold three Master's degrees in Electrical Engineering, Engineering Management, and Business Administration from SUNY at Stony Brook, Dartmouth College, and Boston University respectively. Additionally, I hold certifications in Agile Project Management and Baldrige Performance Excellence. I am also a proud member of Beta Gamma Sigma, the international business honor society. With over two decades of experience in the manufacturing sector, I have held director-level roles spanning various functions, including business development, marketing, and finance.
My journey into academia and the professional world has been driven by a deep sense of purpose. I pursued the DBA to fulfill my personal and professional goals. On a personal note, I have always been a learner and a teacher, having acquired multiple master's degrees and trained associates on key learnings. A terminal degree, the DBA, is a natural learning progression for me. Professionally, with over 20 years of experience in industry, I have witnessed large corporations become risk-averse, stagnate, and lose their ability to innovate; in keeping with Christensen’s (1997) research on large corporations becoming risk-averse over time. My DBA, with a focus on entrepreneurship, provides me with the credibility as a subject matter expert to impact change in this field, drawing from Cialdini's (2006) insights on influence.
Beyond my academic and professional pursuits, I cherish moments spent watching movies with my wife. I am also a puzzle enthusiast, whether it's the strategic challenges of chess, where I hold the global #1 rank on the mychesspuzzles iOS and Android app under the alias "topsatchess," or friendly Wordle competitions with my teenage daughter. I am constantly working to beat her, even though my current average is four tries, while she averages three. If you're interested, you can explore some of the puzzles and games I've designed in this shared drive. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/16ilv2T4L8C5KdGXx7X8Fw4vCyyCi-VeC?usp=sharingLinks to an external site. Finally, to add a touch of personal history, my wife and I celebrated our 20th wedding anniversary last summer. We met during our academic years at Dartmouth, got married near this Ivy League institution, and we've been building our life in the area ever since.
Sincerely,
Abhi
