Timothy Legg
Dr. Legg has over 20 years of experience in providing mental health care to individuals across a variety of settings including nursing homes, inpatient psychiatry, outpatient community mental health, dual-diagnosis, intensive outpatient, inpatient detox, and prisons. He has held a variety of positions including unit manager, nurse practitioner, psychotherapist, clinical supervisor, clinic director, and clinical consultant. Dr. Legg is a licensed psychologist as well as a licensed & board-certified psychiatric/mental health nurse practitioner in private practice in the upstate New York area where he provides a combination of psychotherapy and medication management services to individuals who struggle with psychiatric/mental health issues. Dr. Legg also provides medication-assisted treatment for individuals who struggle with addictive disorders.
Dr. Legg has taught in the field of nursing since the late 1990s and currently serves as program coordinator of the Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner program here at Walden University.
Primary research interests include psychoneuroimmunology and psychoneuroendocrinology as well as psychoanalysis in the treatment of addictions and primitive mental states.
