Meet a Lifetime Ambassador
Dr. Cantero is founder and CEO of the nonprofit Alvin Clinica Familiar in Houston, Texas. He earned both his Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) ['15] and Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) ['17] at Walden, choosing our accredited university, in part, because of its commitment to social change. Today, Dr. Cantero’s clinic provides family practice services, preventive care, and chronic disease management to underserved populations.
About the Program
Walden University’s Office of Alumni Engagement welcomes enthusiastic and experienced alumni to help give back to the school through the Ambassador program. We’re seeking graduates of any degree program to become official Alumni Ambassadors for the university, helping to represent, expand, and engage a robust network. The program will harness the power and amplify the voices of 100 alumni champions, allowing them to celebrate their successes with the Walden community and demonstrate positive alumni outcomes for those who don’t yet know Walden.
Why should you be a Walden Alumni Ambassador?
As an Alumni Ambassador, you will play a vital role in helping Walden University grow, all while staying connected to the university in a variety of capacities!
What does a Walden Alumni Ambassador do?
Alumni Ambassadors are volunteers who help spread Walden messaging through social media, sharing stories, volunteering, working with internal and external stakeholders, and engaging and referring prospective students.
How can I become a Walden Alumni Ambassador?
Top candidates must:
- Apply by the deadline.
- Graduate from a Walden University degree program.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Have authentic enthusiasm for Walden.
What will happen after I'm selected?
After you are selected, you will be required to attend a training session during which you will learn program details, expectations, and commitment level, along with an overview of how you will engage with the Walden community.
You will then be asked to provide updated contact information and sign an agreement.
Then, you will wait for your Walden Ambassadors Network welcome kit to arrive—and start connecting with future members of the Walden community on January 1.
