Intimate partner violence, abuse of people with disabilities, economic empowerment
Dr. Plummer is a core faculty member in the social work program in the School of Social Work and Human Services at Walden University. She has taught bachelor’s- and master’s-level courses in social work since 2004. Most recently, she was an instructor and project coordinator at the School of Social Work at Rutgers University, where she taught and ran a certificate program for students interested in focusing their education on addressing violence against women and children. Her practice experience includes working as both a social worker and an assistant director at Barrier Free Living Inc., a New York City agency that provides services to individuals with disabilities who were survivors of abuse, and as a psychiatric social worker at Southside Regional Medical Center in Virginia.
