Melissa Holcombe has a Doctor of Social Work (DSW) degree from the University of Tennessee (2014). While in her DSW program, she became one of the first post-MSW certified Veterinary Social Workers. Melissa is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in both Tennessee and Georgia. She has a background in child welfare, school social work, and clinical practice. Melissa has presented to at national and regional conferences on such varied subjects as homelessness, veterinary social work, and child abuse and neglect. Melissa is currently a Senior Advisor at Childfree Trust and also works with Probate Court to provide adult competency evaluations in guardianship cases. Additionally, Melissa is an adjunct professor ​of Social Work at Walden University.
