I am from Newberry, South Carolina a small liberal arts college town approximately 40 miles north of Columbia. After high school graduation, I was appointed to the US Naval Academy but chose to enroll at the University of South Carolina, where I received a BA in Accounting and Business. I also have a MA Business/Accounting and an earned Ph.D.
I recently retired as one of Toyota's CFOs and served in that capacity for 34 years. I was a member of the Southeast Toyota Comptroller’s Association and helped conduct seminars during their annual meetings. I served on the Board of Trustees and Board of Governors at Charleston Southern University in Charleston, South Carolina and the advisory council for the Business Department at White Knoll High School. For the past 26 years, I've had the privilege to instruct/facilitate accounting, business, leadership/strategy, finance, and a number of business related courses at several colleges and universities.
