Susan Gagnon
Dr. Gagnon received her Doctorate in Nursing from Case University, her MSN from Duke University, and her BSN from the University of North Carolina. Dr. Gagnon has extensive clinical experience in cardiovascular nursing, and her clinical work as a Nurse Practitioner at Duke University Medical Center has been dedicated to developing and evaluating innovative, theory driven interventions to prevent the initiation of tobacco use, and increasing use of evidence based smoking prevention programs focused on electronic cigarettes, particularly in vulnerable populations such as youth. She has developed an innovative model for clinical inquiry and research in the hospital setting, which has been adopted in clinical settings across the U.S. and abroad. Dr. Gagnon is an active member of the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, the Society for Tobacco and Nicotine Research, and is a scientific and curriculum reviewer for PCORI,(Patient Centered Outcomes Research Institute). Dr Gagnon is an active board member and contributing author for several peer reviewed journals.
