Dr. Stacy Tyler completed her PhD in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Reading and Literacy at Kansas State University. Her dissertation titled Online literature discussions between children in the Deep South and Central United States: Sharing reflections, experiences, and culture, was completed using emerging online technologies. She earned a Master’s degree in Elementary Education and also an Elementary Principal/Administration Master’s +30 certification in Elementary Principalship from Western Kentucky University. Her Bachelor’s degree was completed at the University of Kentucky in Elementary Education.

Dr. Tyler’s teaching experience spans brick and mortar institutions and across different modalities in virtual settings of learning. She has contributed to student growth and learning in undergraduate through doctoral programs. Dr. Tyler’s academic background is in Elementary Education with interests and experience in reading, literacy, writing and instructional technology. She has been an elementary school teacher, assistant to a principal for teacher support, mentor teacher, and a faculty member at Capella University, Kansas State University, University of Texas at El Paso, Salve Regina University and George Mason University. She currently works part-time as a School Testing Coordinator in Northern Virginia and is joining Walden University as a Contributing Faculty Member in the Doctoral program for the Richard W. Riley College of Education and Human Sciences.
