Experience: Dr. Sherly, Boulay; Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) and board certified Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP). She earned her DNP, her Masters in Nursing Education from Walden University. She earned a Post-Masters Certificate as a FNP from Indiana State University. She has held several positions in various academic settings as an Assistant Professor at different universities where she has taught all levels including: undergraduate, graduate, the veteran programs (Medic-to RN) and Foreign Physician programs. She has also worked in various clinical settings such as: medical-surgical, telemetry, behavioral health, various primary care settings, as a Stroke Coordinator for Joint Commission. Currently, she practices as a Mental Health Nurse Practitioner in a Correctional setting one day a week. Dr. Boulay is a member of the American Association of Colleges of Nursing, American Nurses Association, Florida of Registered Nurses, Organization of Nurse Leaders of Fl. Nurses Research Society, National League for Nursing, Haitian American Nurse Association (HANA), Black Nurses Association (BNA). Florida School Health Association,Humanitarian Missionary with different international Christian organizations. Florida International University League of Nursing and Sigma Theta Tau, Alpha Chi Chapter. Her research interests include the transition of newly licensed RNs into their first professional practice role, online learning and interprofessional and collaborative education. SCHOLARLY ACTIVITIES Selected Presentations: INVITED: Poster Presentation for Sigma Theta Tau International April 2010. Infection Control: Empowerment of the Residents in Promoting Hand Sanitation through Research Preceptorship, Daisy Galindo-Ciocon, PhD, ARNP; Debbie Sommer, RN, BSN; Sherly Boulay, DNP, FNP, APRN ; Lourdes Vargas, RN; Daveta A Dixon, RN; Connie Hoffman, RN; Yvonne Jones, LPN; Mary Nash, ACN, LTC She has taken the time to serve abroad three times a year for medical mission/distribute Christmas toys to different orphanages/churches and school supplies to: Haiti, Guatemala, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Panama, and Jamaica She goes on these medical missions or out to serve the less fortunate thinking that she is saving them, only later have she realized that they are saving her. Research Abstract: Author or an abstract entitled “Church-Based Intervention on Prostate Cancer Screening for African-American Men”
