I am Sheila Matye, DNP, MSN, RN, CNE - an accomplished nursing educator and leader with extensive experience in curriculum development, instruction, and educational leadership. I currently serve as Lead Online Nursing Faculty and Subject Matter Expert at an accredited university, where I have made significant contributions to national nursing curricula spanning areas such as evidence-based practice, healthcare informatics, nursing theory, and more.

I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from American Sentinel University in 2015, specializing in Nursing Higher Educational Leadership. I also hold a Master of Science in Nursing Education from Gonzaga University and an Associate Degree in Nursing from Montana State University. I am a Certified Nurse Educator and an active member of professional organizations including the National League for Nursing, Sigma Theta Tau International, and the Montana Nurses Association.

Throughout my academic career, I have held leadership positions such as Mountain Regional Curriculum Chair, Academic Advisor, Institutional Review Board (IRB), Leadership Succession Chair for Sigma Omega Rho Chapter, and served on university committees focused on areas including curriculum, research, assessment, and faculty affairs.

I have presented scholarly work at conferences such as the NLN Educational Summit and have been involved in research projects examining areas such as teaching caring in nursing curricula.

In addition to my teaching experience, I worked from 1993-2023 as a registered nurse at a trauma I care center, with clinical expertise encompassing flight nursing, neonatal and adult intensive care, oncology, psychiatry, and pediatrics.

On a personal note, I am a Montana native, having spent my entire life reveling in the breathtaking beauty and welcoming community of this remarkable state. Alongside my beloved husband of 30+ years, I have been blessed with the profound joy of raising three incredible sons and now have the honor of nurturing three precious granddaughters.
