Sarah Hough

Sarah Hough is an educational researcher, program evaluator and teacher. She currently serves as a mentor and methodologist for Walden University in addition to holding a research position at the University of California, in Santa Barbara where she lives withher husband and two children. Dr. Hough earned her Ph.D. in Education and a Master of Science in Mathematics from UCSB. Her specialty is conducting mixed methods evaluation studies for large projects and conducting research with teachers in inquiry-based, STEM classrooms and professional development settings. She is especially passionate about issues of equity and access to mathematics education. Over the past 18 years Dr. Hough has conducted 10, multi-year evaluation studies for NSF-funded STEM projects and 2 multi-year evaluations for Department of Education funded educational technology projects. Results from all 12 studies have either been published in peer reviewed journals or presented at national conferences. She really enjoys working with and learning from her Walden students and has chaired 14 and served as committee member on 5, Ed.D. studies.
