In the EdD Early Childhood Education specialization, you’ll build skills and progress toward your final capstone project in every course.

In general, students are continuously registered in the dissertation/doctoral study course until they complete their capstone project and it is approved. This usually takes longer than the minimum required terms in the dissertation/doctoral study course shell.
To complete a doctoral dissertation, students must obtain the academic approval of several independent evaluators including their committee, the University Research Reviewer, and the Institutional Review Board; pass the Form and Style Review; gain approval at the oral defense stage; and gain final approval by the Chief Academic Officer. Dr. Samuel Ude, DBA, MAPD
Dr. Samuel Ude is a distinguished scholar and educator with expertise in business administration, information technology management, and disaster response. As a contributing faculty member and doctoral dissertation mentor at Walden University, he is dedicated to guiding doctoral candidates through their research journeys, fostering academic excellence, and contributing to the advancement of scholarly knowledge.
With over 19 years of professional experience at AT&T and over 7 years of doctoral mentoring, Dr. Ude has been instrumental in IT change management, organizational strategy, and process optimization. His extensive background also includes working with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), specializing in disaster assessments and appeals resolution. His expertise spans leadership, organizational behavior, and technological change, areas in which he has published multiple scholarly works.
Dr. Ude holds a Doctor of Business Administration (DBA) from Walden University, focusing on leadership, innovation, and management. His academic credentials also include a Master of Arts in Professional Development (MAPD) from Dallas Baptist University and a Bachelor of Science in Geospatial and Environmental Sciences from the University of Nigeria. Additionally, he has earned a Graduate Certificate in Biomedical Informatics from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston and is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
His research interests center on artificial intelligence in business administration, organizational behavior, leadership, and change management. He has published several journal articles on organizational behavior, employee motivation, and employee retention, contributing valuable insights into workforce dynamics and business sustainability. Through his work, he explores how innovation and emerging technologies impact competitive advantage, cost reduction, and operational efficiency, particularly in the construction and engineering services industries.
Beyond academia, Dr. Ude is a respected author, best known for The Fundamental: Writing a Good Dissertation (2019), a comprehensive guide that helps doctoral students navigate the dissertation process. He is an active member of professional organizations such as the Association of Change Management Professionals (ACMP) and the Academy of Management (AOM), reinforcing his commitment to research, leadership, and professional development.
Outside his professional pursuits, Dr. Ude enjoys cooking, traveling, and watching volleyball or soccer. His passion for research, education, and innovation continues to drive his contributions to both academic and professional communities worldwide.
