Salah-addin Aqtash

Dr. Aqtash is a visionary nursing leader, expert, and educator. He earned his bachelor's degree in nursing from Jordan University, master’s degree in Healthcare Management from California State University/Los Angeles (CSULA), and his doctorate degree in nursing from the University of California/Los Angeles (UCLA). He has multinational experiences that cover a wide range of responsibilities in academic institutions, tertiary care centers, health care corporations, and government entities in the United States, Australia, Saudi Arabia, UAE, and Jordan. He Joined Walden University School of Nursing in 2011 as a contributing faculty in the graduate program. Since he joined, he had taught many graduate-level courses including Policy and Advocacy for Improving Population Health, Promoting and Preserving Health in a Diverse Societies, and Essentials of Evidence-Based Practice.
Dr. Aqtash is a Certified Professional of Healthcare Quality (CPHQ). He is a member of several national organizations including The American Organization for Nursing Leadership (AONL), the Honor Society of Nursing (Sigma Theta Tau International), and the National League of Nursing. Internationally, Dr. Aqtash served as a key member in several high-level government and nursing committees including the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Nursing and Midwifery Council Licensure and Regulations Committee, the UAE MOH Vital Statistics Integration Committee, and the UAE MOH National Nursing Strategy Development Committee. Dr. Aqtash is interested in health services research and has several peer-reviewed publications and research projects. Additionally, he served as a chair for the Institutional Research Ethics Committee for a large network of public hospitals in (UAE). He is a reviewer for several journals and conferences scientific committees including BMC Nursing, Sage Open Nursing, PLOS One, the International Council of Nursing Regional Conference, the Medication Safety Conference, and the SEHA International Nursing Congress. He provided numerous presentations at conferences and professional gatherings in North America, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East.
