Ruth C. Slotnick, Ph.D., serves as Director of Assessment at Bridgewater State University, bringing over 25 years of experience in higher education assessment, teaching, and learning. She co-leads the GenAI Community of Practice (COP) for the Assessment Institute in Indianapolis and chaired the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education’s Working Group on GenAI in Assessment, where she supports institutions exploring AI’s role in academic assessment. Ruth also co-developed the first national pulse survey on GenAI use among higher education assessment professionals, launched in early 2025, which captures emerging trends in this fast-evolving space. A frequent speaker and consultant, she has contributed to national initiatives such as AAC&U’s Quality Collaboratives with the Lumina Foundation. Also a professional studio potter, Ruth brings a creative, systems-thinking lens to her work, blending innovation with data-informed strategy to improve educational practice.
