Dr. Bobbie Emetu, PhD, MPH, MLS has taught courses focused on human sexuality, qualitative & research methods, intervention design, program planning, health disparities, health behavior theory, and evaluation methods. Her research focus is in sexual transmitted infections (STIs) and HIV/AIDS risk behaviors predominately among college-aged individuals and men who have sex with men (MSM). Bobbie’s research interests include condom use errors and application, innovative methods for STI testing, HIV-related stigma, and the association between sexual abuse and sexual risk behaviors. Dr. Emetu continues to conduct applied research within the areas of health education, disease prevention, and sexual health with the goal of contributing to multidisciplinary strategies for improving public health-related problems in this field.
