Renee Rowell
Dr. Rowell earned her PhD in Postsecondary and Adult Education in 2015. She also has a MS in Health Services Management, a BS in Business Administration and an A.A. in Health Information Management. She has the credentials of Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) and Certified Coding Specialist (CCS). She brings 15 years of academic experience to the table having taught in the field of Health Information Management at both the associates and bachelors level, as well as in MS of Health Administration and Health Informatics programs at a graduate level. Having worn the hats of HIPAA Officer, Quality Improvement Director, Coding Manager and HIM Supervisor she brings over 25 years of real world experience in the healthcare system. Dr. Rowell has served as an Adjunct Instructor in both the MS Health Informatics and Nursing Informatics program at Walden University. Her area of research focuses on Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation and managing the functionality of using an EHR.
